ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Jenni
On paper, I'm a relational psychotherapist with over a decade's experience under my belt. And this is how I look close-up.
I'm someone who realised early on that fathers had been forgotten in the home, in the media, in society and in politics. The subject of fathering was barely evident during my psychotherapy training and that's when I started my re-balancing act.
I made Paternal Absence the focus of my research because I know dads and our relationship with them has always been a big deal to how we develop as humans.
I noticed how, when fathers were in the picture, they were either tyrants or cowards.
IT WAS A FAIRYTALE GONE WRONG.
This fired me up to make our relationship with our fathers the epicentre of my work, to help you REWRITE YOUR FATHER STORY AND CREATE A MORE HARMONIOUS HOME.
MY EXPERIENCE
I began my private practice in London working in a range of settings including the Harley Street Medical Area, NHS, charities and The School of Life. Today, my approach draws on a range of psychotherapeutic models including attachment theory, relational psychoanalysis, neuroscience, polyvagal theory, psychodynamic theory, body psychotherapy and mindfulness.
MY BACKGROUND
Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked as an editor for a global media agency and as a freelance journalist. My creative background helps me work with openness and curiosity, as well as understand the pressures of a demanding professional life.
My special interest is in the evolving role of the father, paternal absence, and how we redefine fatherhood today.
My Expertise
My special interest is in the role of the father, paternal absence (including emotional absence) and supporting parents in redefining fatherhood today. As part of my training, I completed research on the effects of childhood paternal absence on adults.
