Anxious about being anxious

As you become aware of the big things that you find challenging in life (events, meetings, journeys), you may also notice that you start to have a reaction to them before they even start to happen.

By thinking yourself ahead to that situation in a bid to prepare yourself, something kickstarts internally, in your body and in your mind. There's good and bad in this. A little 'stress' gets you ready, a lot of stress gets you overwhelmed and can be a sign there is something deeper and unprocessed that needs attending to.

Perhaps that 'catastrophe' you fear HAS already happened as Donald Winnicott suggested, and this time you have more choice and ways to look after yourself in whatever comes next.
